(in)SPIRE: Jacki decided to pursue a career in physical therapy because she loves the ability to spend quality time with clients in order to attend to the whole person and address the root cause of an issue in a non-invasive way. After specializing in general orthopedics for many years, Jacki became more invested in pelvic health and perinatal care in particular after having her own daughter. While birth and pelvic floor functions including elimination, sex, and organ and spine support are universal experiences, they are often neglected in our society. With the massive impact these things can have on our well being, Jacki is passionate about helping women and birthing people take ownership of their experience and regain control in their lives.
(per)SPIRE: Jacki earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a minor in Disability Studies from the University of Washington before attending Pacific University for her physical therapy studies. She graduated as valedictorian of her class with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Since graduating from physical therapy school, Jacki has additionally earned distinction as a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist in physical therapy and completed significant training in the assessment and treatment of pelvic health conditions including pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. She has has also become an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor in order to better support expecting parents with such an important life transition.
(a)SPIRE:Being a lifelong learner, Jacki routinely takes continuing education courses above and beyond state licensing requirements, always striving to better serve her clients. Among other things, Jacki has taken courses in advanced assessment and evaluation, manual therapy, functional dry needling, orthopedic specialization training, pelvic health physical therapy, and birth education.
